Huddard School was started in Kanpur City in 1926 by a British missionary Ms. Ruth Dutton. After her demise the school was inherited by Mr. C Scott, nephew of Ms. Ruth Dutton and Ms. Grace Scott , niece of Ms. Ruth Dutton.

In the year 1970 school came under the administration of Ms. Mercy Roberts, an Indian Missionary and in the year 1973 after the death of Ms. Mercy Roberts, the school came under the administration of Mrs. Sophie Shukla, sister of Ms. Mercy Roberts.

In the year 1970 the school was Affiliated as Huddard Junior High School by the Inspector, Anglo Indian Schools.

Huddard was affiliated as Huddard High School with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations , New Delhi in the year 1990 and the first batch of students appeared for ICSE Examination in the year 1992. The school was upgraded to ISC and the first batch of students appeared for the ISC Examination in the year 1994.

Hddard High school has been serving as a pioneer institution in the field of education and encourages  education of girls. The school became a complete digital school in the year 2017. Teaching and learning process in the school is through Smart Boards installed in all classes. Computer literacy is given utmost importance in the school. Well -equipped Computer labs are provided in school for Junior, Middle and Senior sections. Huddrad was declared as the first fully digital school in the year 2020 by Microsoft and awarded CARTE BLANC- Digital School in India.
