For nearly a century, Huddard High School has been a symbol of academic excellence, innovation, and values-based education in Kanpur. From its humble beginnings as a missionary school to becoming one of the city's most respected institutions, our journey reflects a commitment to nurturing generations of confident, compassionate, and future-ready learners.

1926

The Beginning

Huddard School was established in Kanpur by British missionary Ms. Ruth Dutton with a vision to provide quality education rooted in discipline, character, and academic excellence.

1970

A New Chapter

Following the passing of Ms. Ruth Dutton, the institution came under the administration of Ms. Mercy Roberts, an Indian missionary.
During the same year, the school received recognition as Huddard Junior High School by the Inspector of Anglo-Indian Schools.

1973

Continuing the legacy

After the demise of Ms. Mercy Roberts, the responsibility of leading the institution was entrusted to Mrs. Sophie Shukla, who carried forward the founding vision with dedication and commitment.

1990

ICSE affiliation

Huddard High School achieved a significant milestone by receiving affiliation from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, as Huddard High School.
This marked the beginning of a new era of academic excellence.

1992

first iCSE batch

The school's first batch of students successfully appeared for the ICSE Examination, establishing Huddard as one of Kanpur's trusted CISCE institutions.

1994

ISC programme introduced

Huddard High School was upgraded to the ISC (Class XI & XII) level, and the first batch of ISC students appeared for the board examinations, expanding opportunities for higher academic achievement.

2000 - 2016

Strengthening Academic Excellence

Over the years, the school continued to enhance its infrastructure, academic standards, sports, co-curricular activities, and holistic development programmes while maintaining its commitment to quality education for both girls and boys.

2017

Digital Transformation Begins

Huddard High School embraced technology by transforming into a digital learning institution.
Smart Boards were installed across classrooms, making interactive and technology-enabled learning an integral part of everyday education.

2020

A National Milestone

Huddard High School was recognized by Microsoft as India's First Fully Digital School and was honoured with the prestigious CARTE BLANC – Digital School recognition.
This achievement reflected the school's leadership in integrating technology with quality education.

2026

Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

As Huddard completes a remarkable century of educational excellence, the institution proudly celebrates 100 years of inspiring generations of learners, building character, and shaping futures.
